BTC Funding Yield 2x

Risk: Relatively Low

2× short — double funding income, but losses if BTC rises

How it works

  • Deposit X BTC → short 2X BTC_USDT perpetual futures
  • Expected funding yield: ~21.9%/yr (variable)
  • Your net interest: ~19.7%/yr (after 10% fee)
  • Interest accrues every 8 hours (at funding settlements)
  • Net short exposure: 1× your deposit — losses when BTC rises
  • Approx. liquidation: about +100% above entry price
When you can lose principal
  • If BTC rises above your entry price you lose principal in proportion (e.g. BTC +10% → about 10% of principal lost).
  • If BTC reaches about +100% above entry, the position is force-liquidated and you can lose your entire principal.
  • During periods of negative funding rates, principal can be reduced by that amount.
  • Exchange (Gate.io) failure or insolvency can cause loss of principal.
BTC: $62,733.1 Current funding rate (8h): +0.0029%

Product: BTC Funding Yield 2x (2026-07-06.v2)

[General risks]
1. Principal is NOT guaranteed.
2. The funding rate varies with market conditions and can turn negative, in
which case no interest accrues for that period and costs may be incurred.
The displayed yield is an estimate based on the historical average
(0.01% per 8 hours) and is not guaranteed.
3. Counterparty risk exists: exchange (Gate.io) outages, withdrawal
   suspensions, or insolvency.
4. Interest is paid after deducting a 10% management fee from funding revenue.

[Specific risks of the 2x product — READ CAREFULLY]
5. ★ This product is NOT delta neutral. Against X BTC deposited, 2X futures
are shorted, creating a net short directional position of X.
6. ★ You LOSE money when the BTC price rises. Example: if BTC rises +10%,
you lose about 10% of principal in USD value. Funding income may not
   offset this loss.
7. ★ Liquidation risk: if BTC reaches roughly +100% above the entry price,
the position is force-closed and most of the principal can be lost
(this can occur earlier depending on accumulated fees and funding).
8. Funding income is about 2× the 1x product — this is the compensation for
bearing the directional and liquidation risks above.
